Welcome to Shakti Yoga Therapies

You are in good hands here! Shakti Yoga Therapies is a fusion of my twenty plus years as a student of Yoga, eleven years of having trained and taught in different Yoga and embodiment traditions, and my current experience of studying to become a talk therapist. The cornerstone of all that I offer are the practices of Yoga and Tantra in their truest form: a nervous system science that has the ability to help us cultivate the wellbeing we need to live happy and wholesome lives, and one that has withstood the test of time.

Being human is a challenging experience and many people are fighting a silent battle with their mental health. With a plethora of information (and mis-information) out there, finding the right healing path can be both confusing and overwhelming. Yet the solution we seek really just relies on one key thing: a relationship with the Self. That is what the ancient traditions of Tantra and Yoga teach and that is what they both, along with more contemporary forms of therapy, help us to cultivate.

Everything I offer is with the sole intention of connecting you back to yourself and the primary way to do this is through the body. Movement is the most underrated form of therapy. To move the body is to move everything, not just our physicality but our emotions, sensations, thoughts, and energy. Even in traditional talk therapy settings the body cannot be discounted for in every single moment of our lives we are absorbing messages about our surrounding environment which, once filtered through the lens of the nervous system, are cognitively processed into mental constructs: thoughts. What Tantra tells us is that just as much as this sensory processing is the precursor to our limited beliefs, negative thought patterns, and a dysregulated nervous system, it is also the means through which we can find our way home to the truth of who we are. Tantra and Yoga have long taught us what neuroscience has more recently discovered: that there is no distinction between the body and mind, the two are indeed one.

The Tantric tradition tells us that the very fact that we exist is proof of our inherent worthiness and our purpose here on this planet. My wish for you is to truly understand what it means to be having this human experience, and not just simply exist.

    These sessions will be created for your personal requirements and are helpful if you are a beginner to Yoga, want to deepen your existing understanding and practice, or if you want to explore somatically things you are currently experiencing mentally.
