about me
the formal bit…
With a personal yoga practice of 23 years, and 11 years of teaching and training yoga teachers under my belt, I am a Yoga Alliance accredited Senior Yoga Teacher with well over 1,200 hours worth of training including: Vinyasa Flow, Yoni Shakti Well Woman Yoga Therapy, Prana Flow, Yin, Kundalini, Tantra (in the non-dual traditions), Pre & Postnatal Yoga, Teaching Yoga & Mindfulness to Teens, Working with Yoga & Eating Disorders, and Pilates. I was initiated into Transcendental Meditation 14 years ago but my current lineage is the Vimarsha Foundation, the home of Shaiva Shakta Tantra.
I have had the great privilege of holding many women’s circles and have participated in numerous courses in women’s health including menstruality awareness and menopause.
In addition, I also hold qualifications in Thai Yoga Massage, Embodiment Coaching, Life Coaching, and I am a Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition. Oh, and I’m a published author! See the book here.
At present I am studying an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and in addition to this diploma course, my other teachers include Deb Dana (Polyvagal Theory) and Diane Poole Heller (Attachment Theory).
All of the work I create is trauma informed and heavily influenced through the theoretical frameworks of Stephen Porges and Peter Levine, along with other teachers in the fields of somatic work and understanding the body/mind as a ‘whole-istic' system. I integrate western psychology and eastern philosophy to practice what I call Body Intelligence.
The less formal bit…
So what can I tell you about me that will help you figure out if we’re a good match?
Unpredictable, impulsive, and strong willed are just some of the ways in which my loved ones would describe me.
Curiosity forms the underlying blueprint of my character, and a consequence of that is having spent my whole life seeking. From healing modalities to goddess traditions, every kind of self-help and personal development you can think of, and, of course, yoga. I have devoured books, listened to countless podcasts, watched numerous videos, attended a vast amount of workshops and courses, and spent a shit load of money only to discover that what I was searching for was inside me the entire time. What an anti-climax!
I am a walking, talking paradox and change my mind frequently to the amusement, and exasperation, of those who know me well! One part of me wants to sit outside until the stars come out in deep existential conversation about the meaning of life, or to renounce life completely and disappear to a cabin in the woods. The other wants to dance like no-one’s watching, or to say “fuck-it” and head off on a spontaneous adventure around the world. Alas, I am perpetually torn between them all!
One thing I do know, is that I will never stop learning and continuing to develop my work through what I encounter experientially, and through my studies. This is how I can guarantee you that our work together will always be up-to-date and relevant for these modern times.
When I’m not teaching or creating content in my cabin you can find me wandering around the woods in the West Country of England with my dog Luna, or chasing sunsets on my paddle board.
